John Milo "Mike" Ford was born in East Chicago, Indiana, USA. He was an American science fiction and fantasy writer, game designer and novelist. He studied at Indiana University Bloomington. He wrote several novels include: Web of Angels, The Princes of the Air, The Dragon Waiting (Won- World Fantasy Award), The Final Reflection, How Much for Just the Planet?, The Scholars of Night, Growing Up Weightless (Won- Philip K. Dick Award), and The Last Hot Time. He wrote several short stories include: Casting Fortune, From the End of the Twentieth Century, and Heat of Fusion: And Other Stories. His 1983 book The Klingons for FASA's Star Trek role-playing game influenced later Paramount productions. He authored the award-winning adventure The Yellow Clearance Black Box Blues for West End Games' Paranoia role-playing game.
