Jerry Francis Costello was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, USA. He is an American Democratic politician. He served as U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois's 21st district from 1988-1993, and Illinois's 12th district from 1993-2013. He earned a bachelor's degree from Maryville College of the Sacred Heart in St. Louis. He served St. Clair County, Illinois as a court bailiff, deputy sheriff, and director of court services and probation. He served as chief investigator for the Illinois State Attorney’s office. In 1980, he was elected the St. Clair County Board chairman. He is the author of book, entitled Runway Safety. He married to Georgia Cockrum. They have two sons and one daughter.
