Henri Gregoire was born in Lorraine, France. He was a French Roman Catholic priest, constitutional bishop of Blois and a revolutionary leader. He was an ardent abolitionist and supporter of universal suffrage. He wrote several books include: Mirari vos, The Life of Moses, The Book of Pastoral Rule, On the Soul and the Resurrection, On God and Christ, Glory of the Confessors, and Life of the Fathers.
