Albert Benjamin Ben Chandler III is the outgoing U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 6th congressional district, serving since a special election in 2004. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He currently lives in Pisgah Pike in Woodford County, Kentucky with his wife Jennifer and their three children. The Chandlers are members of Pisgah Presbyterian Church. In 2011, Chandler voted for the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 as part of a controversial provision that allows the government and the military to indefinitely detain American citizens and others without trial. Chandler was defeated for re-election by Andy Barr in the 2012 Election, and he will depart Congress in January 2013.
