Jason Gilbert Giambi was born in West Covina, California, USA. He is an American former professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter. In his Major League Baseball career, which began in 1995, he played for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies and Cleveland Indians. He attended Long Beach State University, where he played college baseball for the Long Beach State 49ers baseball team. He was a member of the fourth place United States national baseball team at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. He won the Silver Slugger Award twice.
