Johnny Reid "John" Edwards was born in Seneca, South Carolina, USA. He is an American Democratic politician and lawyer. He served as United States Senator from North Carolina from 1999-2005. He was the Democratic nominee for Vice President in 2004. He was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 and 2008. He earned a BA degree in Textile Technology from North Carolina State University in 1974. He earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law with honors in 1977.
