William Hamilton McWhorter Jordan was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. He was an American political strategist and government official. He was a highly influential adviser to Jimmy Carter during the latter’s successful 1976 U.S. presidential campaign and later served as chief of staff in the Carter administration. He earned an A.B. degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 1967. He wrote several books include: Crisis: The Last Year of the Carter Presidency and No Such Thing as a Bad Day: A Memoir.
