Johnny David Damon was born in Fort Riley, Kansas, USA. He is a retired American professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1995 to 2012. In his MLB career, he played for the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Cleveland Indians. He studied at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida. He was a member of the squad for the 2013 World Baseball Classic qualifiers. He is the author of book, entitled Idiot: Beating the Curse and Enjoying the Game of Life (with Peter Golenbock).
