Georgia Blanche Douglas Camp Johnson, better known as Georgia Douglas Johnson was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She was an American poet, playwright, and newspaper columnist. She graduated from Atlanta University's Normal School in 1896. She attending Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Ohio, in 1902. She wrote music from 1898 until 1959. She published four volumes of poetry including The Heart of a Woman, Bronze, An Autumn Love Cycle, and Share My World. She wrote numerous plays, including Blue Blood, Plumes, A Sunday Morning in the South, and Blue-Eyed Black Boy. She was inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame in 2009.
