Glenda May Jackson was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England. She is a British actress and Labour Party politician. She first became a Member of Parliament in 1992, and represented Hampstead and Kilburn until 2015. She served as a Junior Transport minister from 1997 to 1999 in Tony Blair government. During her film career, she won two Academy Awards for Best Actress: for Women in Love and A Touch of Class. Her role in other films include: Sunday Bloody Sunday(Won BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Nominated — Academy Award for Best Actress), Negatives, The Triple Echo, Hedda, Stevie, Lost and Found, Sakharov, The Rainbow, and King of the Wind.
