Howard Barker was born in Camberwell, London, England. He is a British playwright and screenwriter. The author of an extensive body of dramatic works since the 1970s, he is best known for his plays Scenes from an Execution, Victory, The Europeans and The Possibilities, as well as being a founding member, primary playwright and stage designer for British theatre company The Wrestling School. His plays often explore violence, sexuality, the desire for power, and human motivation. He has written other plays include: The Bite of The Night, Judith: A Parting from the Body, Gertrude – The Cry, and The Dying of Today. He has written several films include: Aces High and Made.
