John Hardy Isakson was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is an American Republican politician. He is the senior United States Senator from Georgia, in office since 2005. He was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives
from Georgia's 6th congressional district from 1999-2005. He earned a BA degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 1966. He opened a real estate branch for Northside Realty and later served 22 years as the company's president. He also served as Georgia State House of Representatives and Georgia State Senate. He was the Republican candidate for governor of Georgia in 1990, but lost.
